	12 yr Old Cat Scratching Around Neck A Lot by Paula Odell My male cat is 12 years old, neutered since 6 months old. He's been pretty healthy. He had surgery 2 years ago for an abscess on his forehead. Lately he's been scratching a lot around his neck area, there is no evidence of fleas ( we have 4 other cats in the house) I have been giving him acidophilus and sulphUr tablets twice a day for over a week. It seems to be helping a bit with the small scabs, but I've noticed today that he is licking the fur off in places. He doesn't seem as active lately, and I don't think his appetite is the same as before. Can you recommend anything? I was planning on taking him to the vet next week if there is no improvement.
