261 Malnourished Dogs Seized From Florida Coupleby Dr. Chris June 1, 2010 In Polk County, Florida, last week 261 dogs were seized from the Mid-Florida Retriever Rescue. The owners Charles and Diane O'Malley were charged with 261 counts of animal cruelty. Police and animal control officials moved in after receiving an anonymous tip. According to the terms of their bail they are not permitted to have any animals. Almost 70 volunteers showed up over the weekend to help the sheriff's department and the animal control clean and assess the health of 261 neglected dogs. Purina, Publix, and Petco also donated over 2,000 pounds of dog food.
