33 Racing Greyhounds Found Dead at Ebro Dog Trackby Dr. Chris
November 1, 2010 In Ebro Florida, a man named Ronald John Williams was charged with 37 counts of animal cruelty. This happened after gaming officials went to the Ebro Greyhound Park because local residents were complaining about a decaying animal smell coming from the kennel at the Ebro Greyhound Park. After investigating, they found 33 greyhounds dead, and only four dogs still alive. 3 of the dogs had duct tape around their necks preventing them from breathing. The 4 surviving dogs were treated by veterinarians. Currently, Ronald John Williams is being held on a bond of $54,000. Ebro Greyhound Park officials said that Williams was renting a kennel to house greyhounds that he owned at the facility. The Greyhound racing season ended several weeks ago and officials believe that the dogs were being starved since the season ended.
