7 Years Later Missing Dog Found Aliveby Dr. Chris July 10, 2011 In Arkansas, a dog that was missing for 7 years was reunited with its owner this week. The original owner, Andrew Navarette, lost the dog 7 years ago and since then moved to California. During that time, a new owner found the dog and cared for it over the last 7 years. This last week the Rogers Morning News reported it got loose from Kim Rafter's backyard, the new owner, and it was taken to an animal shelter. Luckily the dog was micro-chipped and the shelter officials contacted Navarette, the original owner. Originally named Mimi, the Shih Tzu was renamed Gizmo. The original owner is happy to have the dog back. But Rafter has grown very attached to the dog over the last 7 years and it will be very difficult to give the dog up. This another important reminder to keep your pet's microchip information updated. To read more blog posts go here: Veterinary Blog To sign up for my newsletter go here: Veterinary Newsletter
