Billy the World's Oldest Dog is 22 Years Oldby Dr. Chris
September 23, 2010 A Yorkshire Terrier, named Billy will soon official become the world's oldest dog at 22 years of age. That's 154 in human years! And at his old age his health is starting to suffer. According to reports he only has a few teeth left and blind in one eye. His owner is 71-year-old Betty Holdsworth who adopted him 12 months ago. He was available for adoption because he apparently outlived his first owner. Billy continues to go on daily walks with his owner. But Betty and Billy live in Halifax, West Yorks, Australia. The current record for the Guinness Book of World Records Oldest Dog, is 21 years and 94 days. The dog's name is Sako Wilde, a Kelpie Cross who lives in Melbourne Australia. Apparently Sako will turn 22 in December, but if Guinness Book of World Records validates Billy's age, Billy will be the new world record holder.
