Cat Developing Sores Around Neck and Chin

Cat with sores on neck and chin

My cat is 3 years old. Recently, in the past 4 months he has developed these sores all around his neck and under his chin. They now have turned into open sores and he is losing fur where the sores are. What is it? and how can i treat it?

I have an 8 week old kitten with a growth on his little neck feels like a thick scaly like surface. At this young age I would think it would be food allergy related. But have no idea what it would be.
He was the smallest and wasn't nursing so I started feeding him kitten milk and as he needed more I added small amounts of baby pablum. I have done this with all my kittens that needed the extra and have never had this happen. Now he is on solid food He will eat finally chopped tuna and Friskies kitten food He now has a very healthy appetite and is growing and otherwise healthy energetic as a kitten should be.
Would like to know what this is so that I can treat it.
