Cat loosing weight (hyperthyroidism)

My cat is over 12 years old. We moved to Arizona 2 years ago from Washington State. My cat is not allowed to go outside, and since our move here he has been losing weight dramatically. He's eating throughout the day, but he's getting to the point where he has no muscle and his bones are begining to show. He's practically annorexic and I'm concerned that he won't survive the year. Please help.
Respectfully,
Michelle

Hi Michelle,

It sounds like your cat could have a condition called hyperthyroidism. Voracious appetite with weight loss are the signs.

You have your vet examine the cat to determine the exact cause of this weight loss, so your cat get the help it needs.
