cheap and healthy kitty litter

i cant stand the traditional clay or any type of kitty litter out there on the market (very unhealthy). i went green and tried Sweatscoop (made out of wheat and clumps). i love the product, but it is very expensive. i found that using chicken feed aka mash, is a great litter. i believe i paid $8.00 for a 20 or plus lbs. bag. P.S. it clumps!!!! and is better for our enviroment.
