Chihuahuas Most Likely To Bite Veterinarians
by Dr. Chris
July 27th, 2009 In a new study released about dog bites, it was found that Chihuahuas are most likely to bite veterinarians. This is only one surprising finding from this study.
The Coalition for Living Safely With Dogs, recently completed an intensive study concerning dog bites.
Some of their findings include:
1. The circumstances rather than the breed is more of an indicator on whether or not a bite will happen.
2. Most bites happen at home.
3. Most bites happen to owners or family members when the dog is trying to be defensive about their food or toys.
4. Whether the dog was spayed or neutered had little effect on whether the dog would bite or not.
5. Children are most often bitten while unsupervised.
For a complete report of their findings go to Living Safely With Dogs.
