Chocolate Lab with Bump that Oozes Puss

My dog had a bump that felt like a wart tonight. I was petting him and it began to ooze puss so I squeezed it with q-tips, washed it with dog shampoo, and cleaned it up pretty good. What was this? Is it a cyst? a wart, a mole? Should I be concerned?

my dog had lumps that had puss, many my vet in Delaware said it was nothing to worry about, but two years later he contacted me in Phoenix and told me to have them removed because he said the same thing about someones lab and the lumps were cancerous.
