I had a golden retriever and after he left us,
I wanted another dog that was just as wonderfull,
but I needed a smaller breed, and the cocker was the perfect choice. They are very trainable, and are willing to do anything you ask them. To me, they are the perfect companions, good with children, mine even play nicely with the cats from next door.
I have 3 cockers now, and I am sold, I will never own another breed.
Just make sure you get one from a good breeder, and not from a pet store, or a puppy mill.
A good breeder will let you come and visit and let you see where the pups are kept, and meet the parents.
