The Basset Hound originated from the hunting grounds of the abbey of St. Hubert located at the Ardennes Forest. The dogs were brought to England during the Norman Invasion of England in 1066. The Bedlington Terrier dog was once referred to as the "Gypsy Dog" to those involved in the hunting of illegal game. Aside from its value for poachers it was prized for its ferocity for fighting badgers, foxes and illegal dog fighting. AKC Terrier Group
 The Belgian Malinois dog was originally part of the shepherd dogs developed in Belgium in the 1900ís. The first Malinois was registered and recognized in 1901.  The Bernese Mountain Dog has had a long history in Switzerland with images of the dog appearing as early as the 17th century. It was often depicted in religious paintings of the period. Sometime in the 19th century it again began to appear, this time in written descriptions as the traditional farming and herding dog used throughout the Alps. AKC Working Group

 The Bloodhound dog is best known for its scenting ability and was deployed to capture escaped slaves and criminals. The most noted breeds are the Cuban, the English and African.  The Border Collie dog originated in the British islands on the border between Scotland and England. The origins of the term Collie is often disputed; some say the name came from a Gaelic term meaning useful, some attribute it to "collie" which means black, and some still insist it is the type of sheep that it herded.
