Dachshund flea medication reactions

by Gene
(TX)

Tried 6 different flea applications. His respiration rate climbs to about 120, he paces around the room, junps into and out of chairs, bed, etc. Unresponsive to loving attention. The attack lasts about an hour, sometimes more. I have applied water and also rubbing alcohol instead of flea medicine and he does not respond, but the flea stuff drives him up the wall. What can I use?

Hi Gene,

Talk to your vet about getting a smaller dose, or applying the dose over a longer period of time. Also your vet might be able to recommend some organic flea treatments that your dog would not react to. If you look there are more and more natural dog flea treatments on the market your vet should be able to recommend one.

Thanks,

Dr. Chris
