Dachshund Saves Owner's Lifeby Dr. Chris August 12, 2010 Missy, a Dachshund dog, is being hailed as a big hero. After her owner, Charlie Burdon suffered a vertigo attack and collapsed, Missy ran for help. She ran across the street to Charles Mitchell's house. There she ran up to Charles and refused to leave as he tried to get her to leave. Finally Charles gave and and followed Missy back across the street to the aid of Mr. Burdon. Mr. Burdon, age 66, had been home recovering from a heart attack when he had a vetigo attack and collapsed. When his dog, Missy, saw that he was unable to move, she rand across the street for help. Mr. Mitchell said he was doing yard work and said to the dog that she had better go back home, but the dog refused to leave and looked right at him. This move likely saved Mr. Burdon's life. Missy is an 11 year old Dachshund dog and lives in Yamhill, Oregon. For more on this story see: KVAL Website.
