Denmark Bans 13 Dog Breedsby Dr. Chris
Flag of Denmark
July 2, 2010 This week Denmark increased the number of dog breeds banned from the country to 13. The law, which became effective on Thursday, will not allow anyone to enter the country with a dog from the banned list. For Denmark citizens who already have owned one of these dogs before March 17th, they have to keep the animal muzzled or on a leash at all times in public. Anyone who violates this law will have their dog removed, and the dog would likely be put to sleep. Denmark already banned 2 dog breeds, the pit bull terrier and the Tosa Inu in 1991, when other European countries did as well.
