DNA from Dog Poop Tracks Down Owners Who Won't Pick up After Fido
by Dr. Chris
April 10, 2011 In San Sebastian, Spain, they have made a DNA database of the dogs in town to track down owners who fail to pick up dog feces.
The Spanish town council approved a law where dog owners must register their dog's DNA.Dog feces left around the town will be collected and a
dog DNA test done to figure out which dog it came from.
If they track you down you have to pay a fine of 300 euros or about $433.The fine also applies if you fail to submit a sample of your dog's DNA.
Another side benefit of this plan is that lost dogs could be more easily returned to their owners.
