Dog appears to have eaten carpet

Hello, my dog was whining the other night so i let her out of my room and she ended up eating a hole in my downstairs carpet! now she wont eat but she does drink but when she does she pukes it back up what should i do she wont eat and im afraid she might die can you help me please ASAP!!! thank you so much for all your time.

Carpet can cause an intestinal blockage in dogs which is an emergency condition. Also the fact that your dog is vomiting and not eating also makes it appear like a blockage is possible. Have your vet examine the dog right away.

My dog is eating carpet
by: Wendy

I have a dog who has been sick for four nights in a row now and he has been pacing the floor, chewing on carpet, bed sheets, curtains, rugs. He is also throwing up his dry dog food (the same dog food he's been eating for about a year now and has been doing fine with up until now). Finally he did it again tonight (night 4) and I gave him a can of dog food this time in hopes that maybe this would digest easier for him since I do believe he is quite hungry by now. I have had dry dog food with him all day today but he never touched it until he came in the house tonight, resulting in him vomitting it up again. I'm thinking if he is able to hold down the canned food that I may have to switch him over to that for awhile and see how he does? He seems to be more relaxed right now and was willing to eat it. I plan on calling the vet in the morning. I hope I'm doing the right thing until then.

Our westie has been eating carpet also, the last 3 days he has been acting strange and has lost weight and seems to be having discomfort in his hind area, to the point where he won't let my husband touch it. He hasn't lost his eating abilities and is going poop, could it possibly be a pulled groin muscle?
