Dog has Possible Cherry Eye?
by: Anonymous

Sorry to hear about your dog. There could be several reasons why the lower lid might be up.

First of all make sure it is not "cherry eye" where the third eyelid prolapses and is seen in the medial canthus of the eye.

If it is truly the lower eye lid, is could be due to trauma to the area resulting in either soft tissue swelling or minor nerve damage.

More common signs of dog stroke include head tilt, loss of balance, loss of vision, circling and falling. Remember, these signs are not specific for a stroke, as they can be seen associated with other brain diseases.

In humans facial paralysis is often seen with stroke, something that is rarely seen in dogs, so it is unlikely that your dog had a stroke without showing any other clinical signs.
