Pet Microchip Size
July 9, 2010 It's being reported today from KTVK in Chandler, Arizona that a family there finally knows the whereabouts of their dog that had been missing for over eight months. The dog, was found 1300 miles away at a shelter in Portland, Oregon. The dog, named Sophie, is a Pomeranian and apparently she was dropped off in Oregon by a man with an Arizona license who said he found the dog there a few days earlier. Thanks to a microchip, the shelter workers were able to trace Sophie back to Shannon Reyes, the owner. After this report first aired in Arizona, the family was concerned about not having enough money to get Sophie back home. Apparently it would cost $500 to fly the dog back home from Oregon, or be forced to drive 22 hours to Oregon. Apparently the local television station KTVK said it received calls from dozens of people who wanted to help donate money to help reunite Sophie with her family.
