Dog moaning and howling

my dog constantly moans and howls. The vet has checked her teeth, ears, x-ray of body and stomach. Cannot find anything wrong. She does this day and night. She is fixed and 5 years old. This just started one day and hasn't stopped in two months. We cannot even sleep at night. She eats, goes to the bathroom, plays and seems fine - except for this.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your problem. I have not seen this before, but after your vet has ruled out any medical causes you could look into possible behavioral causes. You could treat this similar to dogs that bark too much and look into controlling it in that manner, with training and anti-barking devices. There are too many to list but if you search on the web for how to get dogs to stop barking that should give you lots of ideas to get your dog to stop.
