Dog Sitter Sued for $1 Millionby Dr. Chris July 17, 2010 This week in New York a couple filed a $1 million lawsuit against Doggie Love which is a pet sitting company. According to the lawsuit, Percy, who was a five-year-old French Bulldog died while being watched under the care of one of Doggie Love's pet sitters. The dog died in the West End Avenue home of Laura Garner and Robert Hardon. They claim that the employee of Doggie Love brought their dog home in an over heated van. And on the way to bring the dog up to the apartment both the doorman and the neighbor offered to give the dog some water but the pet sitter declined and just left the dog in the couple's apartment. A short while later the couple returned home and found Percy, dead in front of the air conditioner. Nilo Mathis, the owner of Doggie Love, stated that "sometimes dogs just die." His attorney also went on to say that "although the death of this dog is tragic, without any necropsy the ultimate cause of death cannot be determined. We are confident that once Doggie Love has the opportunity to defend itself in court it will be fully vindicated." The date that the incident happened was in July of 2009. Anyone who's ever owned a French bulldog, or any brachycephalic breed, know that they are extremely heat sensitive. Click here for more: French Bulldog Information.
