Email your vet to see if there is an over the counter medicine you can try

My vet office and another local vet have email where you can ask a question and they will answer you back-giving suggestions on things you can try at home. They will let you know if they think you can handle it at home or if you have to bring your dog in.

I have used it a few times, with 3 dogs, there is always something happening here.
