Fake Veterinarian Arrested In Fort Myers, Floridaby Dr. Chris
September 26, 2010 The owner's of Dr. Amy's Animal Hospital in Fort Myers Florida, were arrested last month on charges that Larry Gentsch, 43, was practicing veterinary medicine without a license. And Dr. Amy Gentsch, the wife, was arrested for allowing him to do it. If convicted they could both face up to five years in prison for each count. Currently they face two counts. The Florida State attorney's case against the couple includes hundreds of pages from upset pet owners who say they feel betrayed. According to many clients, Larry Gentsch acted and dress like a veterinarian. Clients saw him give rabies vaccinations, draw blood, and conduct medical procedures. The couple's attorney, Patrick McKamey, says that "I have every confidence they will be exonerated in a court of law." The defense claims that Larry Gentsch was merely an office manager who helped out in some situations. And that he never practiced medicine. In 2000, Larry Gentsch, trained in air conditioning, was accused of selling his bosses air-conditioning units under a phony business name and keeping the cash. Then in 2002 he was arrested on five counts of grand theft.
