German Shepard Pregnancy

My german shepherd is preganant, from my guess she is due anyday now, I did not write down the dates she was in heat but do know the approximate time, as of right now, she should be around the 64th day, Last night she wet or her water broke my chair, it was alot of water so I am thinking she was just too tired to get up and go outside. However if it was her water bag, how long after that do they generally start delivering the puppies, it has been approx. 12 hours. Thank you

Hi Renee,

Stage one of delivery can last for up to 12 hours. Stage 2 can last around 4 hours. This is when the pup enters the birth canal.

The normal length of pregnancy is 63 days (depending on breed) from the last breeding. Deliv­ery problems can exist if pregnancy is prolonged (>70 days from first mating) But it seems like your dog is on day 64 which would be in the normal range.
