German Shepard/Rott mix with severe arthritis

Hi~ I have a 10 year old German SHepard/Rott mix. SHe has severe arthritis in both knees and is in a lot of pain. She is not going to the bathroom a lot due to the pain when squatting. She is on pain and ant inflammatory meds as well as glucosamine chondriton but I am still concerned with her lack of going potty. She continues to eat and drink however.
Is there anything else I can do to help her?

Hi,

At this point if she is truly not urinating I would see a vet. Chronic retention of urine in the bladder can lead to a lot of other problems (infections, kidney problems etc)

It might be best to talk to your vet about making her feel more comfortable so she is able to urinate. If this involves altering the doses, that is up to the prescribing vet.

Thanks,

Dr. Chris
