Here’s to Our Army Veterinariansby Dr. Chris
October 1, 2008 Many people don’t realize, but Veterinarians play a key role in our armed forces. Their main jobs are working with agricultural issues and zoonotic diseases. In many nations, agriculture is the primary source of the nations infrastructure. Army Veterinarians help educate people about basic animal husbandry to help produce more food and fiber for survival. Veterinarians are also used to help stop or prevent the spread of zoonotic diseases. Veterinarians are often more educated in that matter than most medical doctors. The Army also employs lots of Veterinarians state side as well. Most are involved in research of animal diseases, zoonotic diseases, and bio-terrorism agents. Army Veterinarians help people all over the world. The Army is much more than just foot solders. As a side note, I'm getting together a package called Slash Your Veterinary Bills.
