How to Properly Size a Dog Crate
Many people buy crates that are waw to big. Only buy a crate that is just big enough for dogs to turn around and lay down in.
This however can be expensive since puppies grow quickly and this would mean buying a new dog crate every few months.
If you just want to buy one large crate, then find a way to section it off, to make it smaller for your puppy. Then slowly increase its size as your dog grows into it.
2 Ways to Measure Dog Crates
1. If you just want to buy one dog crate, look up what the adult size of your dog will be. Find out what their average length is and add to that number no more then 9 inches.
2. If you are just buying a crate for a small puppy then measure the lenght of your puppy and add tho that no more then 6 inches.
Why Properly Size Dog Crates?
If dog crates are size too large, then dogs will use one corner of them as a bathroom, and the other side to lay down it.
Dogs don't like to lay in filth, so they will not go to the bathroom in their crate and thus will hold it until let out, if the crate is properly sized.
