Kevin Costner Uses Private Jet to Save Dogsby Dr. Chris
August 8, 2010 Famous actor, Kevin Costner, is helping to save hundreds of dogs from being euthanized by using a private jet to fly them to Canada. With the help of an organization named "The Orange Dog" they use private jets, which would otherwise go unused to transport shelter dogs to a place where they could be adopted. Mr Costner recently told ET that they recently rescued a dog that was only two hours away from being euthanized. He claims the dog's will live a new life in Canada. Jan Folk, the founder of Orange Dog struck a deal with Global Exec Aviation out of Long Beach, CA. So when the company's planes are not flying executives and celebrities, it is being used for these "Freedom Flights." On the first trip they saved 50 dogs, and the second trip they took about 115 dogs. So far, the organization claims to have saved over 300 dogs. For more on this great mission, visit: Orange Dog.
