Lhasa Apso crate training

by Louise
(Ottawa)

Dear Dr
I got a question to ask you I adopt a Lhasa Apso in July 2007 I train her in her crate at night she never cry she start to cry every night at 2.00pm she doen't want to stay in her crate I have to take her and she want to sleep with me I dont hear her until I wake up could you gave a trick I will be waiting for a answer

Thank you

Hi Louise

I think you have to leave her in the crate even though she whines. By you taking her out of the crate when she whines she learns that by doing the whining you will let her out of the crate. So you need to stop removing her when she whines.

You could try placing her further away from your bed or close a door. Once she learns that she will be in the crate all night she will stop whining.

Thanks,

Dr. Chris
