Lhasa Apso Dog and Puppy

by Maggie
(OR, USA)

2 yr old Lhasa Apso

after vomiting for one and a half days is now not drinking water and eating small amts of boiled chicken.

she sleeps the majority of the time now. she will go out to eliminate.

almost 4 month old puppy eats and drinks but also voimted once last night.

vomit is a yellowish-brown

Hi Maggie,

It sounds like you are taking the right steps so far, by slowly reintroducing bland food.

With two sick animals I wonder if they have gotten into something? It seems like they are improving, but if they don't please take them to the vet.

The best thing to do now is offer supportive care. It often helps to warm food in the microwave to increase the appeal to the dogs. With puppies you have to be careful of dehydration so offer plenty of water or broth to keep him hydrated.

My Lhasa is not feeling well
by: Anonymous

I have a 3 month old Lhasa Apso and he does not appear to be feeling well. I noticed this yesterday. He hasnt pooped and he is sleeping excessively. He is not his playful self. It also appears that he wants to vomit but he cant or wont let it come up.He is not barking or chasing our family cat.I plan on taking him to the vet first thing Monday morning
He also keeps on licking his lips and does not want to open his mouth, which is unusual because he loves to bite.
