Male Border Collie Puppy Peeing on My Legs and Furniture

I have two 9 month old border collie pups, I have had the bitch spayed but to date have not had the dog 'done'.
The pups have been house trained for several months.
Last night, out of the blue the dog, peed on my son's trouser leg whilst he was visiting me. My parents are staying with me for the week, this morning my mother was sitting at the breakfast table and he peed on her dressing gown. Later today I noticed a stain on the electric fire and on turning it on realized that he had peed on this as well.

I have had a couple of suggestions (a) as he has just started cocking his leg (squatted up to a couple of weeks ago)he is practicing. (b) he needs to be 'done'. Please advice
