Misunderstood
by Le Lani Johnson
I believe pitbulls are extremely misrepresented due to the fact that a lot of reports on dog bites/attacks will mention a pit only to find out the report was wrong about the breed but they don't rewrite the reports. I'm a pitbull owner and I've had her for almost 4yrs from 7wks old. She's non aggressive towards people and other dogs. At one point I had 3 pits and raised all of them to be family dogs that were protective but non aggressive. One should do research on a breed before adopting or owning a breed known to be aggressive. That aggression in the bully breed can be dormant if the person adopting or trying to own is well informed and is honest with themselves as to whether or no they can handle the breed. It takes a certain kind of person to raise a pit and therefore laws should be passed to regulate the people that want to adopt or own a pit.
