Not Always The Owner's Fault

Sometimes an idiot will cause the best trained dog to bite. I am in the middle of a law suit because someone decided to feed my American Bulldog (noted for their friendliness) while holding the food in her mouth and she lost part of her lip. This is not on the safety list; probably because no one would believe anyone would be dumb enough to try it.

Im response to the comment above mine, I highly doubt that your IQ has anything to do with the "dumb" comment that was made. Kudos for knowing your IQ but why does that matter? You teaching your dogs to gently grab treats from your mouth is awesome, but someone sticking their face near the mouth of an unfamiliar dog is just plain "DUMB."

Your right it's not always the owners fault. If someone surprises or scares animals, they will bite. That's any animal. But I have to respond to your 'dumb' comment. I am not dumb and I have an IQ of 168. I have a Pitt Bull and a Rottweiler. In demonstrating my dogs training and their gentleness for others to see, I often feed them treats from my lips. And they don't accidently or purposly bite me. But this has to be a process where the dog can see well and treats start out large with the instruction that nothing is to touch me. Then the treats get smaller. Occasionally I feel a hair but nothing more.
