1. Can dogs see in color?

Dogs are usually nearsighted because their eye muscles are weak. But they do have some color vision, which is much worse than ours.

It appears that they are able to distinguish between blue, yellow, and gray. Dogs cannot see the color red very well, so using red as the color for most dog toys doesn't really make sense. It might be better to use blue or yellow.

2. How many bones are there in a cat's body?

230 to 244 bones, it depends on the length of the tail, and if it is declawed.

About 315-320 depending on the length of the tail.

4. What is the heaviest breed of dog?

The Saint Bernard on average can reach up to 264 pounds. Mastiffs can weigh up to 250 pounds on average.

5. What is the tallest breed of dog?

The tallest breed of dog on average is the Irish Wolfhound, with a close second being the Great Dane. Measured at the height of the shoulders they reach about 34-38 inches tall.

6. How many breeds are cats are officially recognized by the Cat Fancier's Association?

41 cat breeds.

7. What popular breed of cat is still not officially recognized by the Cat Fancier's Association?

The Ragamuffin breed is not officially recognized yet. (Ragdoll cats, a different breed are)

8. What is generally recognized to be the smallest breed of dog?

The Chihuahua dog.

9. How many dogs and cats are estimated to be in the United States?

It is estimated there are 77.5 million dogs, and 93.6 million cats.

10. Can cats see in color?

As with dogs, it is believed that cats can distinguish some colors like blue and green, but they mostly see in shades of gray.

Hi Doc and hi to all. Enjoyed the quiz mate,i got 5 out of ten. I must tell you about my visit to a Thai Resturent 3 years ago. They dont care do they? The Menu? German Sheperds Pie with Veg filled Yorkie!! OR Collie flower cheese with Brussels griffon Sprouts!! I had the Thai Meatballs,absolutely gorgeous,they really were the Dogs Bollocks!! I enjoy Cider but the glass of Old English tasted like piss to me!! No after dinner mints though,only Maltese,ers. True story Doc.Cheers. Paul.
