Puppy eating feces

hi..

my pup is 5 months old and continues to eat here feces... i am having a hard time breaking her of this awful habit... i understand why she is doing it.. just cannot get her to stop.....

Hi Louise,

There are several different things to try to get your puppy to stop eating feces.

"Forbid" is a product you can give your puppy that will give the feces a worse flavor.

You could try sprinkling any feces with lemon juice or hot sauce.

You could train your dog not to eat feces using commands.

Or you could pick the feces up right away. One of these should help you.

What would cause my yorkie to eat her feces? I just got her she is 2 in July.I noticed when I got her she had terrible breath. I told our vet it smells like rotting flesh, so he checked her teeth and gums. Then he sent a bottle of "Breathalyser" home with me. I have had her for a month now and I can only assume she has been doing this for quite some time.So what if she has been doing this for a long while? What risk does this pose and why do dogs do such a nasty thing?
