Renters Charged $19,000 For Stained Carpet from Dogsby Dr. Chris
November 15, 2010 An Alberto, Canada Judge orderd three people to pay their former landlord $19,000 because their Yorkshire Terrier soiled the carpet so badly it had to be replaced. The Terrier's name is Boo, and despite the cute dog's appearance in court, the judge still found him guilty. The total amount they were ordered to pay was $19,182. According to the landlord the carpet was so urine stained that the whole carpet needed to be removed. That accounts for about $10,000. The other money was ordered to be paid because of one month of unpaid rent, and $5400 due to lost rent while the house was uninhabitable, which included cleaning charges for repairs.
