Happened to me before
by: Anonymous

Hi. First of all, my parents are dog breeders (Shih Tzu). We had 2 female puppies and 1 male. One night, the male (6 weeks) wasn't breathing right. So my dad checked out his mouth, and nose. His nose was plugged up. My dad cleaned it out with a cotton swab and kleenex. We took him to the vet, and he said it was a cold. We broght him home, along with a bottle of milk you can buy at the pet store. We fed him by syringe. This continued for 2-3 weeks. It wasnt getting any better, so we took him back to the vet. Then, he said it was lung disease. The puppy (Ricky) was so sick. He would hide all the time. After syringe feeding for another week or so, we were not giving up on him. After the medication he was on was finished, he was feeling great. But... The one girl, Jewel, died so suddenly of the same thing. Heathly one day, dead the next. She didnt show symptoms because she was the runt. Finally, Ricky got better, and has a nice, new family. I shared this because your Shih Tzu may have lung disease. I advise you to bring him to the vet immediently. Thank you for reading this story.

Mine is a 12 years old female and she has never had those breathing problems. Only today, but she looks as if whe were very nervous and I do nos know what to do in order to help her. She can even put to sleep. I thought it was asthma or a tachicardia.

It Happens A Lot when the are young

My dog dis this a lot prior to turning one year. Stay calm, pick him/her up and cuddled like a baby on its back. Blow into his/her face until he/she begins to breath normally again. These dogs seem prone to asthma attacks. Make sure you stay clam. This has always helped my dog.
