The Siberian Husky is a great work dog, family dog, and show dog. HistoryThe Siberian husky is broadly understood to have comes from the Chukchi Tribe, from the eastern Siberian peninsula. These breeds were utilized in the year 1908 for the All-Alaskan Sweepstakes, which was a 408 mile long dogsled competition, and worked in the Army's Arctic Search and Rescue Unit all through World War II.Physical FeaturesHeight of the dogs differs from 21 to 23.5 inches at the withers. And the bitches around 20 to 22 inches at the withers. The weight of the dog varies from 45 to 60 pounds. And the bitches vary around 35 to 50 pounds.It is a double coated breed. The hair is medium in length, offering a nicely furred look. The undercoat is dense and soft. Every color from black to natural white is permitted. Several different markings on the head are normal, including many impressive patterns not seen in other breeds. PersonalityThe character of the Siberian Husky is gentle and friendly, but also outgoing and alert. He doesn't show the controlling qualities of a guard dog, nor is he extremely suspicious of other people or aggressive with other dogs. His cleverness, tractability, and keen temperament make him a pleasant companion and prepared worker.Common Health ProblemsThe 2 greatest concerns for the Siberian husky is canine hip dysplasia and inheritable eye disorders.
