by Dr. Chris

July 17, 2010 Bullet, which was famous for being Roy Rogers' dog recently sold at a New York auction for $35,000 this last Thursday. Also sold at auction that same day was Trigger, which was the TV star's famous horse. Trigger sold for $266,000. Both the horse and the dog were stuffed and mounted in a museum for the past forty years.

The buyer of Bullet was Rural cable network RFD-TV, whose owner Patrick Gottsch, said that the network will begin airing Roy Rogers' movies on Saturdays.

The company is based in Nebraska, and Roy Jr., the movie star's son, will give an introduction for each film as Trigger and Bullet stand in the background.

Patrick Gottsch says his goal is to introduce Roy Rogers to a whole new generation of kids.

Christie's auction house was where the items were sold from. The items were from the Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Museum in Branson, Missouri, which is now closed.

Over 1000 items were sold of Roy Rogers according to Christie's.

The most prized item for sale was Roy Rogers silver jeep, called the Nellybelle, which sold for $116,500 to Pam Weidel who trains horses in New Jersey.
