Here is a quiz for you...  What is the difference between:

"Dog Food with Beef" and "Beef Dog Food"?

Shopping for your pet's food can be confusing. But here are some tips that can help:

Read the label carefully on top dog foods:

The 95% rule:  If the pet food is named for a meat ingredient, it's got to be 95% of the named meat.  "Beef for Dogs" must be 95% beef.  "Tuna Cat Food" must be 95% tuna.

The 25% rule:  For a product to be named "Beef Dinner" or "Chicken Formula Cat Food" or anything described as entrée or platter must only contain 25% of the named ingredient.

The 3% rule:  If a product has the words "with" on it, it must contain at least 3% of that item.  For example a Chicken Dinner with Cheese must contain 3% cheese.

***Answer to the top question....

"Dog Food with Beef" must only contain 3% beef, while
Beef Dog Food must contain at least 95% beef.  What a big difference!
