Yorkie peeing on floors

by Alisa
(MO)

My one year old Yorkie Poodle is peeing on our floors upstairs. He has been nuetered already. We were told this would stop. What is the matter?

Hi Alisa,

Sorry to hear about your problem. Neutering usually doesn't solve behavior problems.

Your dog has learned to do this and now we just have to teach him how to do it outside.

You could start by closing the doors or keeping your dog from going upstairs for the next week and see if that solves the problem. If it doesn't you could go back to crate training the dog again if the dog is alone or unsupervised when this happens.

Thanks,

Dr. Chris
